Commentary by the Australia Defence Association
The public-interest guardianship role of the Australia Defence Association integrally involves the promotion of informed public debate on defence and wider national security issues. This naturally includes the ADA making public statements to explain our views on current and longstanding issues. Since 1975 our long-term and independent perspective on both types of issue has become a particularly valued contribution to informed public debate.
Our public commentary on issues and events is available through many means but chiefly occurs in three categories of broadly ascending detail (but often descending currency):

newspaper, media website, television or radio reporting of ADA views;

letters-to-the-editor and opinion articles contributed to newspapers and media websites by the ADA; and
-
formal comment published on the ADA website and in our publications Defender and Defence Brief.
