Subscriptions for "Defender" and "Defence Brief"

This page enables electronic lodgement of the subscription application form for organisations seeking a corporate, library or other institutional subscription to the ADA's quarterly journal, Defender, and its electronic bulletin, Defence Brief. Individuals seeking to subscribe to Defender and Defence Brief need to use the individual membership page instead. Organisations seeking corporate membership of the ADA (rather than just a subscription to Defender and Defence Brief) need to use the corporate membership page.

Subscription Period:

Your subscription period is for the standard financial year from 01 July to 30 June of the following year.
If you take out a subscription in the last six months of a financial year (between 01 January and 30 June) your initial subscription period is 18 months through to 30 June in the year following. In this case, you need to add one-month increments, as needed, to the relevant subscription (below) in order to cover the additional period applicable.

Renewal Policy. Your subscription renewal invoice for the new financial year will accompany your last issue of Defender for the expiring financial year.

As the ADA is a community-based public-interest group entirely dependent on the resources committed by the public, you are assumed to be renewing your subscription unless you advise otherwise in writing on receipt of your initial renewal notice.
If you cancel your subscription at a later time you incur a pro rata charge for the period elapsed until the written notice of your cancellation is received and confirmed by the Association.
Your lodgement of this subscription application registers your acceptance of, and agreement to, this policy.

Privacy Policy. As per our privacy policy all your subscription details are held in the strictest confidence and will not be passed to a third party without your prior express permission.

Corporate or institutional subscription to Defender and Defence Brief - $A100 per year
As a corporate or institutional subscriber your organisation is assisting informed public debate nationally on defence and wider national security issues – and you are reserving your direct and immediate access to two of the principal publications underlying such debate. Your organisation will receive our quarterly national journal, Defender, our electronic bulletin, Defence Brief (during intervening months between issues of Defender), and have access to advice from the Association when reasonably available.

Annual subscription to Defender only by Australian libraries, educational institutions, museums, clubs and Service messes - $A50 per year

To save time with delivery of the the journal each quarter, and to avoid the often large additional charges levied, libraries are advised to secure their subscription to Defender directly rather than through the services of a subscription management agency.

Annual subscription to Defender only by overseas libraries, educational institutions, museums, clubs and Service messes - $A65 per year

Overseas institutional subscribers receive their copies of Defender promptly by airmail each quarter.
